Chesterfield ABC Store Closed for Remodeling

October 16, 2014 – Virginia ABC store located in the Meadowbrook Plaza Shopping Center at 5722 Hopkins Road, Richmond, closed Monday, Oct. 13, at 9 p.m. for remodeling. The store is expected to reopen in late November.

Virginia ABC Special Agents Conduct Moonshine Bust at Three Residences in Dickenson County

October 10, 2014 – After a two-week-long investigation, Virginia ABC special agents, with the assistance of the Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police, executed search warrants Oct. 7.

ABC Stores Open on Columbus Day

October 9, 2014 – All Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) stores will be open on Columbus Day, Monday, October 13.

Gerontological Society of America’s Annual Scientific Meeting to Include Discussion of Virginia’s Alcohol and Aging Awareness Group

October 9, 2014 – The dangers of alcohol and medication interactions—and Virginia’s Aging and Alcohol Awareness Group’s (AAAG) efforts to address these risks—will be discussed during a symposium presentation at the 2014 Gerontological Society of America (GSA) annual scientific meeting this fall in Washington, D.C.

Virginia ABC Launches 2014–15 College Tour to Promote Safer Campus Communities

October 8, 2014 – Virginia ABC launches its 2014–15 College Tour initiative, a series of regional, one-day alcohol and drug abuse prevention conferences that prepare student leaders to promote healthier and safer campus communities.

West Point Native and UVA Student Named Virginia ABC College Tour Peer Advisor

October 6, 2014 – Kate Hudson, 20, is a special education and government major at the University of Virginia, a graduate from West Point High School and one of the first-ever peer advisors for the Virginia ABC College Tour.

Sandston Student Named Virginia ABC College Tour Peer Advisor

October 6, 2014 – Abby Pendleton, 21, is a sociology major at Longwood University, graduate from Varina High School and one of the first-ever peer advisors for the Virginia ABC College Tour.

Chesterfield County Student Named Virginia ABC College Tour Peer Advisor

October 6, 2014 – Katrina Saphrey, 20, is a biology major at Virginia Commonwealth University, a graduate from Cosby High School and one of the first-ever peer advisors for the Virginia ABC College Tour.

Chesapeake and Portsmouth Students Named Virginia ABC College Tour Peer Advisors

October 6, 2014 – Reginald Demps, 20, is a mass communications major at Tidewater Community College and a graduate from Great Bridge High School. Anthony Hardy, 18, is a biology major at Randolph College and a graduate from I.C. Norcom High School. They are also two of the first-ever peer advisors for the Virginia ABC College Tour.

Colonial Heights Student Named Virginia ABC College Tour Peer Advisor

October 6, 2014 – Emily Young, 20, is an English major focusing on pre-law at the University of Mary Washington, a graduate of Colonial Heights High School and one of the first-ever peer advisors for the Virginia ABC College Tour.

Brunswick Native and JMU Student Named Virginia ABC College Tour Peer Advisor

October 6, 2014 – Whitney Hawkins, 20, is an Interdisciplinary Liberal Studies (IdLS) major at James Madison University, a graduate of Nottoway High School and one of the first-ever peer advisors for the Virginia ABC College Tour.

Virginia ABC Marks 25th Anniversary of Virginia’s Finest® Trademark Program with Special Promotion

September 24, 2014 – Virginia ABC has been proudly stocking the shelves of its 350 stores with an increasing number of the finest beverages the commonwealth has to offer.
