Chesapeake ABC Store Will Close Temporarily for Remodeling
TEMPORARY CLOSING DATES
- Close: Sunday, June 20 at 6 p.m.
- Re-open: Saturday, July 3 at 12 noon
The Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) announced that the Chesapeake ABC store located at 550 E. Liberty Street will close temporarily due to remodeling. The store will close on Sunday, June 20th at 6 p.m. and reopen on Saturday, July 3rd at 12 noon.
The Chesapeake store, along with other recently remodeled stores, balances creativity with functionality by considering visual appeal as well as security, maintenance and accessibility for the disabled. The newly designed store will feature enhanced shelving allowing for increased product selection to meet market demand.

A major source of revenue for Virginia, ABC has contributed more than $1.5 billion to the commonwealth in the past five years. The agency currently operates 332 state stores, and its Bureau of Law Enforcement oversees more than 15,000 ABC licensed establishments. ABC also provides alcohol education and prevention programs to citizens throughout the state. Virginia ABC remains committed to progress and innovation in carrying out its control, service and revenue mission.
