Strayer Alumnus Appointed Commissioner of Virginia ABC
Highlights

RICHMOND Strayer University graduate Wayne Ozmore was named commissioner of the Virginia Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) by Gov. Robert F. McDonnell. Ozmore assumed his new role April 12.
"I am honored that Gov. McDonnell has given me the opportunity to continue to serve the commonwealth as a commissioner of the ABC Board," Ozmore said. "My experience in the enforcement of rules and regulations pertaining to licensees coupled with my background in fraud prevention will serve me well in this new role."
Ozmore earned a bachelor's degree in computer networking from Strayer University in 2001 after receiving an associate's degree from St. Leo University in Florida.
He has more than 16 years of experience in Virginia's law enforcement community. Prior to being named to the ABC Board, Ozmore worked as a senior criminal investigator in the Virginia Attorney General's Office since 2005.
Ozmore also held various positions in the Enforcement Division of the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation after beginning his career in law enforcement in 1993 as a deputy sheriff with the Chesterfield County Sheriff's Office. Prior to that, he was a naval intelligence specialist during Operation Desert Storm.
Ozmore lives in Chester, Va. with his wife and two children.
