Measures of Success in Fiscal Year 2010

Measures of success as ABC completed fiscal year 2010 include a record $675.5 million in annual gross sales. ABC remains committed to measuring our success in balancing control, service and revenue, providing excellence and accountability to the citizens of Virginia. Employees worked hard to deliver this record performance and are working hard to beat the record again next year. ABC has pride in what it does for the Commonwealth and continually strives to raise the bar while providing control, service and revenue to citizens of Virginia.

Public Safety and Prevention

As one of 18 control states across the U.S., Virginia shares the common goal of safely and responsibly administering the sale and distribution of alcoholic beverages. ABC works to ensure that adults who choose to responsibly consume alcohol can do so in a safe environment - one that operates in compliance with the laws and regulations of the Commonwealth. ABC's award-winning Bureau of Law Enforcement has eight regional offices supporting special agents located throughout the state.

ABC continues to lead the Commonwealth in alcohol prevention and community education initiatives. ABC offers training and materials for use by employees of licensed establishments and communities around the Commonwealth. In addition, the agency provides thousands of dollars in grant funding to enhance community coalitions and programs at colleges and universities throughout Virginia.
