ABC completed Fiscal Year 2011 with record sales of $692.7 million, up $17.2 million from the previous year. The agency transferred $121 million in profits and has contributed more than $1.5 billion to the commonwealth in the last five years. Vigilance by ABC sales associates resulted in a 98 percent compliance rate for not selling to underage during the fiscal year. The ABC Bureau of Law Enforcement conducted more than 11,000 criminal investigations. ABC remains committed to the public safety of Virginia’s citizens, providing alcohol education for people of all ages, excellent customer service at each retail location, and a consistent source of revenue for the commonwealth. |
